Active Birthing Classes

Active Birthing Classes are weekly antenatal classes to help relieve pregnancy symptoms through gentle movement, learn about your body and baby in labour and prepare for a confident birth. Our unique class format combines elements of pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing and antenatal education to create a powerful combination, linking your education to your breath, your body and your movement.

 

The classes are suitable for mums-to-be only, from 14 weeks pregnant. If you are looking for a class for both you and your birth partner, take a look at our   ​

Each Active Birthing class is 1 hour 30 mins and every week you can expect:

​

  • Gentle yoga movement

  • Breathing techniques for labour

  • Antenatal education and options for birth

  • Guided relaxation

  • Chat with other local mums-to-be

​

Where? Plymouth Wellbeing Centre

​

When? 7.30 - 9pm on Wednesday evenings

​

How much? £72 for a 6 week term

I attended the weekly Active Birthing classes during both of my pregnancies and they were just fantastic. Kate is so welcoming and understanding, the classes being a perfect balance between gentle exercises, relaxation and information. They're a safe space to share your questions and worries and I also made a wonderful group of friends - I would have been lost without them. I would absolutely recommend these classes whether you're expecting your first baby or your fifth!
